Random Nice People Rule

Sometimes the random people you meet on the street, at the bar, or visiting local landmarks are the high lite of your whole day.  For Example I was out for a well deserved beer and this random guy told me he liked my coat (little did he know I had stolen it during a bar fight several years ago and have since been afraid of someone calling me out on it.)

 Also during a long walk in the snow I was presented with a free red bull when one of those red bull mini coopers rolled up offering them to all of the lucky folks waiting at the crosswalk.  Even the people on the El who laugh with you when something funny happens. Like this one time when a man boarded the train sopping wet even though it was a dry fall afternoon. He left puddles wherever he stepped and a big wet spot on the seat he took.  Finally when he got off at Merchandise Mart (presumably to buy a towel or clothes or some manner of dry goods) everyone erupted in laughter like we were all thinking (what the hell happened to that guy?) I treasure these moments more than most people would think.  I live for those moments where something goes awry and you and another person are there to witness it and exchange a shocked glance.  I aim to be the random person that others will laugh at or with.
